Long time readers will recall my admiration of Lanny K. Smith's monumental two-volume history of the Union and Confederate armies at Stones River [You can read the reviews here and here].

His newest book, Morgan's Cavalry 1861-1862, is now available.

    I have been waiting for a book like this on Morgan. If it is anything like his Stone's River books, it would be hard to imagine a more exhaustive study.

    1. Same here. I'm sure the price will discourage some interested people but it is reasonable given what you get and the very limited print run. The last really good Morgan book I can recall is the one from Betty Gorin about Tebb's Bend.
