Rip Ford bio wins 2011 Pate book award
Richard McCaslin's biography of John S. "Rip" Ford has won the 2011 A.M. Pate, Jr. Award. Fighting Stock: John S. "Rip" Ford of Texas (TCU Press) is a very worthy winner. Why I think so is clear from my review. Much thanks to the Fort Worth Civil War Roundtable for their continued and generous support of scholarly Trans-Mississippi publishing.
